I moved to New York City almost four weeks ago

I am 22 years old

Graduated from college a month ago

And this is the first time in my entire life that I have had to “just figure it out”

I have only ever lived in Texas

(Before I moved 2 1/2 hours away to Oklahoma for college)

I have had the same friends my entire life

And have never had to truly start over or make new friends

I went to school with the same people from kindergarten till senior year of highschool

Moved to college with my best friend

And Joined a sorority where I was in a position to simply hang out with the people around me who also needed friends so no effort was really put into that, it just happened because that’s what happens in college and in a sorority

This is the first time I have had to go out into a new place and try to meet new people

And it’s scary

Don’t get me wrong, I am so happy here

I am honestly surprised because I am someone who doesn’t do well with change

So a change as monument as moving states away was scary but very exciting

(I think it’s because of how high my dosage is for my anti depressants that make it harder to feel it but that’s not the point)

The point is I am starting something new, truly new, for the first time in my entire life, and I am so excited.
