To him,
She is adoring
And She is faithful
To everyone she meets
She is persistent
And She is unfaltering
In everything she does
She doesn’t open her heart to many
But when she does
She is the one
The one you turn to
The one you rely one
The one you trust
Her trust is earned
Her love isn’t given
She is her
When she opened herself up to you
She did it reluctantly
She did it with skepticism
She made herself vulnerable
Something she doesn’t do to many
But she did it to you.
She let you in
She allowed you access
To her heart
To her mind
To her body
She let you in
You showed her your self
Or the “self” you wanted her to see
You were “vulnerable”
But it looked like gaslighting to me
You told her your “truth”
But only when you wanted something
Your mask was slipping through
Your disguise was washing away as the hours of the night went by
The words “I love you”
Arent a game
They aren’t things you can toss around
Or take back when you need them
They aren’t supposed to be used for personal gain
And Flowers are meant for love
Or to show you care
Not a cover up
Not something you buy to “make things right”
After what you did last night
The roses are forever tainted
The song is forever sung
Scottsdale street won’t be driven down
And her guard is put back up
You were supposed to protect her
You were supposed to be there for her
To be the one she looked to and leaned on
And talked to and hugged
She isn’t a toy
Not a dumb blonde
She is brilliant
And witty
And sees things for something deeper than they actually are
She is the definition of perfection
And Violation is a strong word
It is hard to “accidentally” do
The word erks my soul to say
And hurts my heart to think how you did that without a second thought
You did that and you knew what you were doing
You knew what you were doing
And you did it anyway
But you bought her flowers
So I guess everything is ok.
