What’s A Soulmate?

When you think of a soulmate

You think of another

Typically a lover

You think of someone with whom you can spend the rest of your life. 

To raise your kids with

But that isn’t always the case

A soulmate is another

But doesn’t always have to be a lover

A soulmate is someone who shares your soul

Tied and bind 

They understand you 

Like no one else can

Like nothing you assumed was possible

You think they don’t exist

Until you meet yours

I have been luckier than most

I met mine 20 years ago

She is my mother

I can’t explain the bond we share

I don’t understand it myself

A soul tie

It can’t be explained 

Until you see us together

We share one heartbeat

One mind

The love she pours into my soul

The knowledge she fills my mind

She makes me laugh until I cry 

She is my future Maid of Honor 

My constant sunshine

I am my mother’s soulmate

And she is mine
