What does it mean to have a personal style?
Each of us holds our own identity and lives our own lives. Every day, we walk around in clothes that experience life with us, ultimately shaping who we are to ourselves and the outside world. Styles and trends constantly change and evolve each year, month, or season. Some things will stay "in," and others will go "out," but the one style that is forever trendy is change.

As trends change and styles go in and out, our style isn't pretty close behind. My style is constantly shifting, and what it is like today differs from how it was 1, 3, 5, or even ten years ago. My style tomorrow may be different from how it is today.
Like all great works of art, there must be a muse. This is true for fashion as well. Each of us gets our inspiration for our style from something or someone else. For me, that muse is my mother. Growing up, my mom was what some would consider a "cool" mom, and I don't mean that in the typical sense. I mean that in the realms of fashion.

My beautiful and inspiring mother, Becky Morris, has made a lifelong career in the fashion industry, and this is where my love for fashion stems from. She worked for Saks Fifth Avenue for over 20 years as a sales associate, personal shopper, assistant fashion director, and then fashion and public relations director for Saks Galleria Dallas. I am following in her footsteps in the PR realm and fashion.
All my life, I thought her style was unique and different. I had never seen anyone dress how my mom did, and I mean that in the most admirable way possible. I always admired her confidence in herself and her style. I'll be sure to paint you a picture. Imagine a woman who wears a long dress, heels, and arms full of bracelets to the grocery store. I have never seen a woman wear a pair of flats; seriously, her flip-flops and slippers are heeled.

Before I discovered who I was, what I liked, and what I looked good in, I mainly wore oversized T-shirts with jeans, Converse, a slicked-back ponytail, and a headband. Thinking back, I am just in awe of how far my style has evolved.
My style is an electric mix of designer, vintage, and classic. I love boho, prints, bright colors, and mixing patterns, but most of all, I love jewelry. Seeing my mom wearing so many jewelry pieces at once, I started to do the same. I love wearing a lot of bracelets and rings, and I love mixing metals.
One of my friends uses the term "dopamine dressing," I love that saying. You dress according to whatever you are feeling. I identify with this term because I love embracing many different styles and am not locked into just one. Experimentation is the only way you can find your style.
Overall, I have found what I have wanted, and with fashion, I have found myself. With the help of my inspiring mother, I am excited to see where my style leads me next.
